Thickness
Stones
vary from 3/4 to 2 1/2 inches: average thickness is 1 1/2
inches.Weight
8-10 pounds per
square foot.
Colors
Iron oxide
pigments. There are two steps to the coloring
process. Iron oxide pigments added to the cement before
casting provide a body color which runs throughout each
stone. Accent colors may be added to each stone by
brushing a special mixture containing iron oxide colors to the
molds before casting, producing a permanent "face
color". Existing applications have shown no
undesirable color change after many years of weathering.
Durability
Manufactured
stone made with our process has a compressive strength well in
excess of 4000 psi. Freeze-thaw testing by certified
independent test labs showed no visual damage or change in the
material after 30 days of alternate freezing for 12 hours at 0-5
degrees F followed by a 12 hour thaw cycle at 70-75 degrees
F. Existing stone applications made from our exact
processes have been in service for decades, showing superb
performance in every way.
